Worker helmet stickers are QR code labels that a worker attaches to their hard hat. Each sticker links directly to the worker's BuildPass profile. Admins and site managers can download helmet stickers from the worker's profile page or from their induction record.

Why use helmet stickers?

Helmet stickers give site managers a fast, hands-free way to verify a worker's identity and record attendance without the worker needing to interact with a device. They remove the need to search for a worker's record manually and support multiple on-site workflows from a single scan.

Helmet stickers are used for:

  • Identity checks — site managers scan the sticker to instantly view the worker's full profile and compliance details.

  • Toolbox attendance — workers present their helmet to be scanned and are automatically signed onto site.

  • Form-based sign-in — workers filling in an attendance form can scan a sticker to mark attendance and automatically record a site sign-on.

How to download a helmet sticker

From the worker's profile

  1. Go to People > Workers on the left hand side menu.

  2. Open the worker's profile.

  3. Select Download helmet sticker QR code at the top.

  4. Choose your preferred format (Sticker size) (see label printer formats below).

  5. Download the sticker file and print it.

From an induction record

  1. Go to Safety > Inductions > Site Inductions.

  2. Locate and open the worker's induction record.

  3. Click on Download helmet sticker QR code at the top.

  4. Choose your preferred format (Sticker size) and download.

Privacy: masking the worker's name

The worker's name can be hidden on the sticker for privacy. When name masking is enabled, the sticker displays the QR code and changes the worker's name to the induction ID — no identifying text is visible to bystanders. The full worker profile remains accessible when the QR code is scanned by an authorised site manager.

To mask the name, toggle the "Mask name for privacy" option before downloading.

Label printer formats

Helmet stickers can be downloaded in multiple formats to suit different label printer brands. Select the format that matches your printer when downloading. Contact BuildPass support if your printer format is not listed — additional formats can be added on request.
