Drawing Notifications allow you to send updates to selected users when drawings are uploaded or revised. This helps ensure the right people are aware of changes and can access the latest drawings.
Notifications can be sent to admin users, companies, workers, or tagged groups directly from the drawing review screen.
Add people to notify
When reviewing drawings, you will see a Notify column.
Click Add to notify beside a drawing.
Choose who should receive the notification:
Admin users
Companies
Workers
Tagged groups (if user tags are configured)
You can edit or remove notified users at any time.
Set notifications in bulk
If you upload many drawings at once, you can assign notifications to multiple drawings at the same time.
Select multiple drawings.
Choose the people you want to notify.
This is useful when uploading large drawing sets.
Save notification selections
Notification selections are automatically saved.
If you leave the page or close your browser, your selections will still be there when you return.
Notifications for drawing revisions
When a new revision of a drawing is uploaded, BuildPass will automatically pre-fill the people who were notified for the previous version.
For example:
If users were notified for Plan X, Revision A, they will automatically be set to receive notifications for Plan X, Revision B.
You can adjust the recipients before sending if required.
How notifications are delivered
Different users receive notifications through different channels.
Admin users
Receive email notifications
Workers
Receive SMS notifications
Companies
Notifications are sent to company contacts using the following order:
Contacts assigned to the project
Default company contacts
All company contacts (fallback)
Notification limits
To keep messages readable, BuildPass limits the number of drawings included in each notification.
Email notifications
Show up to 100 drawings
Additional drawings appear as “and X more”
SMS notifications
Show up to 5 drawings per section
Additional drawings appear as “and X more”
Viewing notification history
Each drawing now includes a Notifications tab.
From this tab you can:
See who was notified
See when notifications were sent
View the email or SMS message that was delivered
This provides a clear record of communication if there are ever questions about whether a drawing update was shared.
