How do I add and view drawing titles?

Add clear titles to your drawings so everyone can quickly see what each drawing represents.

Drawing titles in BuildPass help you describe what each drawing shows — so instead of just seeing a drawing number like C-005, you can add a title such as Ground Floor Plan to make it clearer for your team.

For admins:

  • Add a title when uploading new drawings — there’s a field for this during upload.

  • Edit titles while reviewing drawings before publishing.

  • Update drawing titles anytime after upload if something changes.

For workers:

  • Workers can view drawing titles in the worker web interface and the BuildPass Mobile App, but can’t edit them.

For public users:

  • Anyone with public access can see drawing titles, but can’t edit them.

Helpful features:

  • When you upload a new revision of an existing drawing, the same title is automatically carried over.

  • If no title exists, BuildPass uses AI to pull a title directly from the PDF drawing.

Why it’s useful:

Using drawing titles saves time by making it easy to identify each drawing at a glance — no need to open every file just to find the right one.
