Requesting documents through BuildPass keeps everything in one place. Rather than chasing documents via email, your subcontractors receive a direct invite with a clear list of what's required. Documents are uploaded straight to the project, making it easy to track compliance across all your companies.
Before you start
Make sure the companies you want to invite have already been assigned to the project.
Step 1 — Open the project
Select the Projects tab in the top left corner and select the project you want to request documents for.
Step 2 — Navigate to the Companies tab
Within the project, select the Companies tab and ensure the On This Project view is selected. Scroll down to see the list of companies assigned to the project.
Step 3 — Select companies to invite
You have two options:
Invite all companies — Select all assigned companies at once to send invites to your entire project company list in one action.
Invite specific companies — Select the individual companies you want to invite.
Once your selection is made, select Invite to Project.
Step 4 — Select the documents to request
In the invite panel, select the documents you want the company to upload. You can request any combination of documents, for example, a SWMS and insurances for the project.
Step 5 — Add a custom message (optional)
You can include a custom message to the company or subcontractor in the invite. This is a good place to add any project-specific instructions or context.
Step 6 — Send the invite
Select Send Invite. The company will receive an email inviting them to the project and requesting the documents you've selected. Once they upload their documents, these will be available directly within the project.
