Limiting Who Can Create Permits

BuildPass allows you to restrict which workers can create permit applications, helping you maintain clear approval processes and site control.

  • Only authorised workers can create permits when restrictions are enabled.

  • Workers without permission will be prompted to contact a site administrator for access.

(For setup steps, refer to the permit permission settings in your project’s Permits settings.)

Managing Work Within a Permit

Once assigned to a permit, workers can manage their own work only, without impacting others assigned to the same permit.

Workers can independently:

  • Start work

  • Pause / Stop work

  • Close out their work

This removes bottlenecks and allows work to continue efficiently.

What’s Changed?

Workers manage their own tasks

  • No more waiting on other workers.

  • Each worker controls actions related only to their assigned work.

Clearer worker display

  • The updated layout clearly shows:

    • Which workers are assigned

    • Each worker’s current status

Bulk actions for admins

  • Admins can approve or request changes for multiple workers at once.

  • This significantly reduces admin effort on large permits.

More flexible approvals

  • Admins can approve some workers while requesting changes from others.

  • Work can continue without unnecessary delays.

These improvements give workers more autonomy while making permit management faster and easier for administrators.
