Step 1: Select the Project

  • Select the project on the upper left corner that you will work on and click on it to access its details.

Step 2: Access the Defects Section

  • Click on "Defects" on the left hand side menu under the Quality assurance section to access the Defects page.

Step 3: View Existing Defects

  • In the Defects section, you will see a list of defects that have been created for this project.

Step 4: Adding a New Defect

  • If you want to add a new defect to the list, click on the "+ New Defect" button. Provide a name for the defect and choose whether to assign it to a BuildPass user, company or worker for fixing.

Step 5: Uploading a Screenshot

  • To enhance clarity, you can add a photo or screenshot of the defect. Click on the option to add a photo, select the relevant screenshot from your computer or phone, and upload it.

Step 6: Marking Up the Image

  • Once the photo is uploaded, you can edit it and mark the exact location of the defect. This will help companies easily identify and address the issue. After marking up the screenshot, save the changes.

Step 7: Saving and Finishing

  • Save the new defect entry by clicking on "Save & Finish" to confirm and finalise the defect entry. You can also click on "Save & add more" to create another defect entry.

Step 8: Exporting Defects

  • After entering all the necessary defects, return to the list of defects. Select the defects you want to export by clicking on each one or choose the option to export all of them.

Step 9: Downloading the Defects as a PDF

  • In the upper right-hand section of the screen, look for the Download PDF option. Click on this icon to initiate the export process.

  • A new tab will open, and the defects will be downloaded as a PDF file. Depending on your browser settings, the file may be saved automatically or prompt you to choose a download location.

Step 10: Save or Print the PDF

  • Now that the defects have been exported to a PDF file, you can choose to print it or save it for future reference. Use the appropriate options available in your PDF viewer to perform the desired action.

Exporting defects is a useful feature that allows you to create a comprehensive list of issues in your project. By following these simple steps, you can efficiently generate a PDF file containing the defects, making it easier to share, review, and address them with your team or companies.
