How to request custom document types from companies

Request specific documents from companies during the project invitation process.

Requesting custom document types allows you to collect documents that are not part of the standard document list, helping you manage project-specific requirements.


Step 1: Open the Project

  • Log in to BuildPass.

  • Navigate to Project Home for the relevant project.


Step 2: Select the Company

  • Scroll to the Companies section.

  • Locate and select the company you want to request documents from.


Step 3: Invite the Company to the Project

  • Tick the checkbox next to the company name.

  • Click Invite to Project.


Step 4: Request Custom Document Types

  • In the invitation window, locate the Custom Document Types section.

  • Enter the name of the document you want to request.

  • Click Send Invite to notify the company.


Step 5: Review Submitted Documents

  • Once the company uploads the requested document, go to the Documents section of the project.

  • Open Other Documents to view the uploaded file.


Custom document requests make it easy to collect project-specific documentation directly from companies.
