By default, workers are not automatically signed on or signed off in BuildPass.
Automatic sign on and sign off only occurs when Geolocation and Auto Sign On/Off are enabled.
How Automatic Sign On and Off Works
When geolocation is enabled:
Workers are automatically signed on when they enter the project’s location radius
Workers are automatically signed off when they leave the location radius
Without geolocation enabled, workers must sign on and off manually.
Enabling Geolocation on Your Account
Geolocation must first be enabled at an account level.
You can follow the dedicated guide on enabling geolocation to turn this feature on for your account.
Setting Up Geolocation for a Project
Once geolocation is enabled:
Each project requires a location radius to be configured
This radius determines how close a worker must be to the site to be automatically signed on or off
Enabling Auto Sign On / Off
To enable automatic sign on and sign off:
Go to Settings
Click More settings
Open the Sign On tab
Toggle Auto Sign On on
This setting applies across all projects that have geolocation configured.
Important to Be Aware Of
Workers who are automatically signed on:
Bypass tasks that would normally appear before signing on
This may include:
Acknowledging notices
Signing updated SWMS
Uploading new certifications
If you enable automatic sign on, ensure workers are aware of any requirements they must complete outside of the sign-on process.
