If you already have a customised induction that you would like set as your default site induction - please contact the BuildPass support team and we can update this for you.

A site induction helps standardise safety and informational entry for project sites. By default, BuildPass provides a system default template that applies to new projects unless customised.

Step 1

  1. Login to your BuildPass account and navigate to the "Site Inductions" page.

  2. On the "Site Inductions" page, ensure you have selected the project you want to update the site induction for.

Step 2:

  1. In the top right-hand corner of the "Site Inductions" page, you'll find a "More" button.

  2. Click on the "More" button, and you will see two options: "Preview Induction" and "Customise Induction Template.". Click on the "Customise Induction Template" option to start customising your site induction for the current project.

Step 3:

  1. You'll have two options here:

    1. Edit the Default Site Induction: This option allows you to make changes to the default site induction that will apply across all your projects. Be cautious with this option, as this will change every project

    2. Clone and Edit the Induction: This option is recommended when you want to add project-specific information. It allows you to create a copy of the default induction, which you can then modify without affecting other projects.

Note: You cannot replace the system default induction template with a cloned template.

Step 4:

  1. Choose the "Clone" option to to copy either the default induction or an induction from another project.

  2. Update the template name so that you can find it later.

  3. Now, review each section and identify what you would like to change for this project.

Step 5:

  1. Once you've made all the necessary modifications, click on the "Save" button to save your customised site induction. Remember, saving the customised site induction will only apply the changes to the current project unless specified otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions on Defaults and Customisation

Can I set a new induction template to be the default for all projects automatically? Yes, once you assign a default induction to a project or all projects, it becomes the base induction used for them. You can also update and edit these inductions individually to meet each project's requirements. However, note that you cannot replace the system default induction template with a cloned template. What happens to inductions tied to the archived default template? If you archive a default site induction template, all previous responses tied to that template remain valid and visible. This ensures historical responses are not affected. The Current site induction becomes the active template workers interact with.
