If you already have a customised induction that you would like set as your default site induction, please contact the BuildPass Support team, and we can update this for you.

A site induction helps standardise safety and information requirements across your project sites. BuildPass provides a system default induction template that is automatically applied to new projects unless you customise it.

Updating or Creating a Site Induction Template

Step 1: Navigate to Site Inductions

  1. Log in to your BuildPass account.

  2. Go to the Site Inductions page.

  3. Ensure you have selected the project you want to update.

Step 2: Open Template Management

  1. In the top-right corner of the Site Inductions page, click the More button.

  2. Select Manage Templates from the dropdown.

This will allow you to edit the induction used for the current project.

Step 3: Choose How You Want to Customise

You will now have two options:

Option A — Edit the Default Site Induction

This updates the default induction across all projects in your organisation.

Option B — Create a New Template (Recommended)

Click Create Template (top-right corner) to make a new induction template.

This is ideal when you want project-specific content, as it lets you:

  • Start with a clean template, or

  • Copy the default induction or another project’s induction.

Step 4: Customise Your Template

  1. Choose Create Template to start from scratch or copy an existing template.

  2. Give your template a clear name so you can easily identify it later.

  3. Review each section and update the content to suit the needs of the project.

Step 5: Save Your Induction

Once all changes are complete, click Save.

Your customised induction will apply only to the current project unless you choose to assign it as the default for other projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set a new induction template to be the default for all projects?

Yes. Once you assign a template as the default for a project—or for all projects—it becomes the base induction used moving forward. You can still edit each project's induction individually where needed.

However, the system default induction template cannot be replaced with a cloned template.

What happens to inductions linked to a default template that is archived?

If you archive a default induction template:

  • All past responses linked to that template remain accessible and valid.

  • The current site induction becomes the active template workers interact with.

Historical data is never lost.
