How to create a project in BuildPass

Set up and manage your projects in BuildPass

Creating a project in BuildPass is the first step to managing your site. Once your project is set up, your team and workers will have access to everything they need, from on-site contacts to required certifications at induction.

How to create a project

Step 1 — Open the New Project form

When you log in to BuildPass for the first time, select Create a Project from the home screen. For subsequent projects, select New Project from your project list.

Step 2 — Enter the project address

Enter the project address in the Address field. BuildPass will automatically populate the project name using the address. You can update the name to whatever name works best for your team.

Step 3 — Set the project status

Use the Status field to reflect where the project currently sits in its lifecycle (for example, Active, Upcoming, or Completed).

Step 4 — Assign a project admin

Select one or more Project Admins for the project. Project admins receive additional notifications and have greater visibility into activity occurring on the project.

Step 5 — Add start and end dates (optional)

The Start Date and End Date fields are optional. Fill these in if you'd like to track your project timeline within BuildPass.

Step 6 — Add project contacts

These are the contacts your workers will have available to them during their time on site, for example, a site manager, a client representative, or a nearby medical centre.

To add a contact, select Add Another Contact and fill in their name, role, and phone number. You can add as many contacts as you need, or remove them entirely if not required.

Step 7 — Set required certifications

In the Certifications section, review the default requirements. The White Card is mandatory by default and must be provided by workers when completing their project induction.

If your project has additional certification requirements, for example, a Working with Children Check for a school project, select Add Certification and choose the relevant certification type. Workers will be required to provide this upon completing their induction.

Step 8 — Create the project

Once all details are complete, select Create. Your project is now live in BuildPass.
